The transmitter is very strong and works well. The only complaint is with the charger. The humming sound was not improved with the replacement of another charger. My transmitter sounds much better in battery mode. On the plus side the batteries last a long time 6-8 weeks before they need to be replaced. I've used other transmitters, and my Whole House is superior and in my opinion, worth the extra price. The people couldn't be nicer or more accommodating.
