I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Whole House FM transmitter. I just recieved it and got it broadcasting my favorite Web-streamed radio station in under five minutes.
I am retired and a huge fan of daytime talk radio. In my area all I can pick up is noisy distant AM stations that are hard to listen to. My idea was to receive WWBA radio from Tampa on the computer and broadcast it 24/7 throughout the house for noise free reception. I have to say the range and quality are outstanding.
I am using a Sony ICF-SW7600GR radio which is a bit pricey but gives great reception. I am reliably picking up the signal at least out to 500 feet from the transmitter. I have a neighbor who can pick my transmitter up in his house and has requested that I web stream some shows he would like to listen to at night!
I can truely say that this transmitter is the best 90 dollars I ever spent. It has increased my listening pleasure and given me noise-free reception for the first time ever. My only complaint is my wife "snags" the system to broadcast CD's when I want to listen to Neal Boortz! Hmmm, maybe a second transmitter would cure that. Thank you again for a great product!
